Thomas Season Ends with JD

-  SPORTSFIVE REPORT:  The Red Rams started off with the first three goals against Webster Thomas, but the Titans came back with the next three goals to tie the game early in the second quarter. Travis Ford (4-2) scored with 3:55 left in the half to give Thomas their first lead of the game (5-4). The Red Rams used the last three minutes of the half to scored two goals and go to the break, up 6-5.

Thomas winnersJ-D scored the first two goals in the third, extending their lead to three and then Travis Ford scored the only Thomas goal of the quarter before J-D came back with three more including three from Grayson Burns who ended the game with five. Although the Red Rams scored the first goal of the last quarter, Thomas returned with three in a row taking the score to 9-12. Multiple penalties gave much of the end of the game ball time to the Red Rams who scored one more in man up.

The Ford brothers were noteworthy in the game with senior Travis recording 4g-2a and his sophomore brother Trevor adding g3-1a. Senior attackman Pierce Currie had 2g. Sophomore goalie Matt Yonko, who was moved up from the JV earlier in the season when his brother, Ben was injured has a stellar season with the Varsity and made some superb saves in the biggest game of his life thus far. Recording nine saves against a very competent Jamesville-DeWitt offense.

Jamesville-DeWitt will appear for the fifth time in six years to the Championship game in Middletown at 11:00 am on Saturday.
