Empire Cup Tryouts This Week

June 13, 2012 - The Empire State Cup Tournament will be be played for the first time from July 26th to 29th in Syracuse. Following the general format of the Empire State Games, the tournament pits players from six regions of the state who will play at Central Square (Thursday and Friday) and Henninger High School (Friday and Saturday). "The cup is designed to see who indeed is the best region in the Empire State."

Designed as a "recruiting camp", the program encourages college coaches to attend both tryouts and the games themselves. "The Empire State Cup anticipates we will have over 100 Div I, II and III colleges represented during the course of the event."

TRYOUTS FOR THE WESTERN TEAM
The Head Coach for the Western team is Orchard Park Coach Gene Tundo. In his career at OP he has 484 wins and his team has won 19 Section VI Championships.

TRYOUT SCHEDULE for the Western Team
June 18th -6pm- Robert J. Stransky Memorial Complex West Seneca NY (All Buffalo/Southern tier/Corning players)
June 19th- 4pm- Sahlen's Stadium (All Rochester/Finger Lakes Players)
June 21st- 6pm- Robert J Stransky Memorial Complex (Top players from each tryout)
