Friday - Central over New York City 13-7

- Central opened the second day of games in a similar fashion as they did on Thursday against Hudson Valley. Central defeated New York City 13-7 after a seven-goal streak in the last five minutes of the third quarter.
  
New York City scored the first two goals of the game at 7:38 and 2:58. Scott Margolis scored first followed by Max Van Bourgondien (with an assist by Anthony Adler). Central only took six shots in the first quarter, with only the final shot hitting the cage (and resulting in a goal). Matt Taylor, from behind the cage, found Mike Fetterly open on the crease to score with only 0:18 remaining. The score was 2-1 in favor of NYC at the end of one quarter.
  
As the second quarter began Fetterly scored two more goals (the second also assisted by Taylor). Central had taken the lead away from New York City, 3-2, but NYC came back with three unanswered goals to end the quarter. The tying goal was scored by Forest Sonnenfeldt (assisted by Adler). The next goal was scored when New York City was man-down. Max Van Bourgondien took the ball to the outside and attempted to stall the ball as the penalty time elapsed but was forced to beat a double-team on the outside. As a result he cut straight into the goal and found the back of the net for the go ahead goal. New York City scored two more goals to up their lead to 5-3 at the half.
  
The first goal of the third quarter was also scored by New York City, as during a two-man-advantage opportunity, Margolis scored (assisted by Van Bourgondien). NYC held a 6-3 lead, but with 4:43 remaining in the third quarter Central took over and scored the next seven goals before the end of the quarter to finish with a 10-6 lead. Rob Grimm, Steve Ianzito and Ryan Barber each scored two goals in the series with Fetterly scoring the seventh goal.
  
The first goal of the series, at 4:43, was scored on a behind the back shot by Rob Grimm (assisted by Tim Rommel). 0:13 later Steve Ianzito (assisted by Mike Poppleton) scored on face-off fast-break. 0:59 second later the tying goal was scored on a front side feed to the crease line where Rob Grimm had cut from behind the cage (the feed coming from Luke Cometti). The next goal was scored as Ryan Barber swept across the top and buried the ball in the upper right corner of the net. 0:43 later Luke Cometti assisted Steve Ianzito from behind the cage to a falling Ianzito. Ianzito made the catch and fired off the shot before being pushed into the crease. 0:35 seconds later Barber scored again with a drive from behind the cage and a high shot over the goalies head. The final goal came at 0:14, off a dead ball situation where John Greely shot off a quick pass from behind to Ianzito who was cutting towards the crease.
  
NYC scored their last goal with 9:35 remaining in the fourth quarter as Margolis found Parker Roe on the inside. Central scored the last three goals of the game as Tim Rommel and Matt Taylor scored their lone goals of the game. Fetterly’s fifth goal of the game (assisted by Grimm) was at 6:42 and the final goal of the game.
  
Poppleton took a majority of the face-off’s for Central winning 15/18 (83%). In the cage AJ Fiore and Jordan Marra split time at the half for Central, while Ben Feldberg played the entire game for NYC. Fiore faced 8 shots recording 6s (75%) and Marra faced 9 shots with 4s (44%). Feldberg finished the game with 16s/13ga (55%), but excluding the third quarter was 11s/6ga (65%).
