Saturday: Last Regular Season Games

- With a number of seeding positions on the line five games were played on the last day of the regular season. Canandaigua was the winner over Hamburg while Schroeder lost in double overtime to Amherst. In the Section, McQuaid Jesuit, Waterloo and Aquinas won games.

In a game played in Section Six, Canandaigua finished their regular season with a 12-4 win at Hamburg. Kevin Peck was outstanding for the Braves winning 10 or 12 face-offs. The defensive unit of Matt Malloy, Evan Roth, Ben Knapton, Jon Zacharias, and Alan Zulick had note worthy games as they held Hamburg scoreless for the first 3 quarters.
  
Scoring for Canandaigua were Connor Henderson (2g-2a), Jeremy Brown (2g-1a), AJ Groot (1g), Austin Rogers (1g), Charlie Sauter (2g), Nick Munn (1a), Kevin Peck (1g), Justin Tomzak (2a), Eric Klein (1s), Brian Scheetz (1g-1a) and Marshall Johnson (2g).
Dan Serafine played 3.5 quarters and had 9 saves (0 ga). Scott Bement played the last half of the third quarter and the first half of the fourth quarter and had (3s / 2ga). Kyle Carson played the last six minutes and had (1s / 2ga).
  
Scoring for Hamburg were Joe Reseteris (2g), Scott Newton (2g) and Kevin McHenry (2a). Ross Warhol played the first 3.5 quarters and made 7 saves and gave up 12 goals. Craig Kempston played the last six minutes and made 4 saves with 0 goals allowed.

took a 6-2 first quarter lead and added two more in the second quarter to go into halftime with an 8-3 lead. The Bulldogs scored seven in a row in the third quarter while holding the Knights to one to give them a 10-9 lead after three. Livonia added another at the top of the fourth to take an 11-9 lead, but the Knights came back with three unanswered goals at 7:24, 5:10 and 3:29.
  
The Bulldogs had one last opportunity to tie the score. With a minute left McQuaid Jesuit was assessed a 30 sec. penalty for pushing. With an extra man situation Livonia’s Tyler Russell made an attempt to hit a cutting middie Adam Schaible, the ball went
on the ground and McQuaid Jesuit got possession of the ball and was able to clear it to their offensive end.
  
McQuaid Jesuit Coach Scott Bryson had kind words for the Bulldogs."Coach Sciera and his players are to be congratulated for demonstrating such heart this afternoon. I was very impressed with how well his squad came back in the third quarter and feel fortunate that we were able to keep it close and come up with a couple of goals for the win".
  
Scoring for McQuaid Jesuit were Mark Hanna (4g), Mitch Ritchie (3g), Marty Farchione (1g–2a), Jay Haseley (1g–1a), Dan Odarzyk (1g), Dan Sturnick (1g), Evan Gallina (1g) and Nick Cardillo (1a). Pat Mcguire made ten saves for McQuaid Jesuit, who finish the regular season at 10-8 and will face Gates Chili in the first round of the Class A Tournament.
  
Scoring for Livonia were Chadd Britton (4g–2a), Brian Sciera (3g), Scott Mosher (2g), Tyler Russell (2a), Oren Taylor (1g), Adam Schaible (1g) and John Dalberth (1a). Zac Berger had 1 save and Aaron Jamison had 8 saves for Livonia who end the regular season at 12-6 and will play Midlakes next week.

It took two overtime periods for Amherst for Section Six to beat visiting Schroeder 12-11. Webster held the lead at 6-3 in the first quarter and led at the half 8-5. Amherst took a third quarter lead at 10-9.
  
With two minutes left in the game, Schroeder was down 11 - 9. Mike Tota scored with an assist from Andy Winslow with 1:30 to go. Amherst won the following faceoff but Webster's Drew Palmer took the ball away from an Amherst attackman and fired down to the offensive end and after a wild scramble the Amherst defense came back up with the ball. They threw the ball down to Schroeder's end where goalie Costanza came way out of the crease to get the ball from another wild scramble. He ran down the field where he was slashed by an Amherst player giving the Warriors a man up opportunity with 0:25
seconds to go in the game. With 2 seconds to go, sophomore Nick Mooney scored to tie the game up on with assist from Andy Winslow.
  
Scoring for Schroeder were Grant Catalino (4g-3a), Mike Tota (3g-1a), Jay Wilmes (2g), Eric Chavoustie (1g), Nick Mooney (1g) and Andy Winslow (3a). Dennis Costanza had 13 saves for the Warriors, who earned the number three seed in the Class A Tournament and who will play Hilton in the out bracket game on Tuesday.   
reddot Waterloo went right to work, taking a 6-0 first quarter lead to a 9-1 half time lead on their way to a 17-3 victory over Haverling.
  
Scoring for the Indians were
Winston Boyd (3g-2a), Bill Jolly (2g-4a), Nelson Boyd (3g-2a), Andy Wadhams (1g), Josh Lewis (1g), Josh Mateo (4g-3a) and Mike Ruiz (3g). Shawn Andrus had 8 saves and Mark Nearpass had 9 saves for Waterloo who ended the regular season at 12-6 and after earning the number two seed in the Class C Tournament will play Pal-Mac in their first game.
  
Scoring for Haverling were Steve Joint (2g) and Brad Fuerst (1g). Defensemen Elliott Cornaire and Bryant Madigan each had an assist. Jeremiah Wilder had 27 saves for the Rams.

In the first half, Midlakes started their senior day game in fashion as they lead 1-0 at the end of the first quarter and then took a 3-0 lead in the second. Aquinas had to scramble to put a string of three goals together to tie the game before the halftime break before finishing the game with a 6-4 win.
  
The second half began quite the same as the Little Irish went down again in the third period by a goal and went into the forth quarter losing 4 to 3. Again the Irish put a sting of three goals together to take the lead for good. Tiege Lawler took a nice feed from Nick Vincent to score what turned out to be the game winner as he put the little Irish a head 6 to 4. The AQ defense played a great game in the second half with Alan Antinarelli making 19 saves for the game and senior defender Joe Edd came up with 9 ground balls.

Scoring Aquinas were David Schmandt (3g), Mark Pincelli (2g-1a), Marc Brondon (2a), Tiege Lawler (1g), Nick Vincent (1a) and Cam Casaro (1a).
