Players of the Week - Group 6

- Player of the Week

We are catching up this week with three players who, over the last two weeks, are worthy of note.

Erik Jakobsze Defensive Player of the Week
Erik Jakobsze

Senior defenseman Erik Jakobsze was an important player when the Warriors won their big game against cross-town rival, Webster Thomas 11-10 and then again in the 11-9 HF-L win and then the 8-6 Hilton win. In the three games he combined for six take-aways and six ground balls and gave Schroeder significant ball time.

Schroeder Head Coach says "Erik is terrific player who has worked extremely hard to be in the position he is today. He is a great leader for not only our defense, but our entire team the past three seasons. He pushes himself and his teammates on a daily basis. He is a huge part of so many facets in our team strategies, and his ability to run the field in transition is second to none this season."

John Mozrall Offensive Player of the Week
John Mozrall

Senior attackman John Mozrall  is being honored for his performances in the Brighton, Hilton and Orchard Park wins, but, in fact, he has been a very important cog in many of the Pittsford wins this season. In the 10-9 win over Brighton, Mozrall scored 5g-1a including the game winner in overtime. He leads his team in goals, assists and points and has 107 career points in his three years on the varsity.

Head Coach Andrew Whipple says: "John has done everything we have asked of him this year from playing Attack to midfield and has even taking some face offs for us. He has been a great leader for our team on and off the field."

Kyle Fingar Offensive Player of the Week
Kyle Fingar

Junior midfielder Kyle Fingar  is being honored for his stellar performance in the Spartan victory over Eastridge where he scored 4g-4a including the game winner in overtime. Fingar also leads his team in goals.

Head Coach Jake Johnson says: "Kyle has been a steady contributor all year, coming up with big goals when needed. As a junior, Kyle has been named team captain and has had to take the leadership role of our young team with very little experience at the varsity level. Kyle has a great work ethic and wants to improve his game every day in practice as well as during the offseason. He is a great player for some of our younger players at the lower levels to look up to. He gets the job done in the classroom as well as on the field."

This is the sixth award group for 2018. Group five honored Klya Stuver (Fairport) and Chayse Ierlan (Victor). Group four honored Gavin Lathrop (Midlakes) and Joe Wegman (Greece Storm). Group three honored Quinn Simonson (Irondequoit) and Joe Camp (Wayne). Group two honored Brett Cunningham (Gananda) and Caleb Green (Brighton). Group one honored Jack Billitier (McQuaid), Trevor Ford (Thomas), William Fell (Penfield_ and Aiden Kenyon (Canandaigua).
