Pittsford holds Off C-C for win

- Pittsford scored five unanswered goals spanning the first and second quarters to secure their 10-6 win over Churchville-Chili.  The Saints scored the opening goal and kept the game close for the first quarter.  Pittsford took over in the second quarter to take a 6-2 lead that the Saints couldn’t come back from.  Churchville-Chili continued to fight and brought the game within two late in the game but could not get any closer.

 Corey Yunker scored the first three goals for the Saints, all unassisted.  He scored the game opener only 1:27 into the contest.  Pittsford responded with the first of John Avery’s 2g-1a with 7:14 remaining in the first quarter.  Yunker scored again just over a minute later to put the Saints back on top.  Pittsford responded with five unanswered goals to take control of the tempo of the game.  Avery, John Mozrall, Sonny Imburgia (2) and Ryan Dumont scored the Panthers.  Churchville-Chili was held scoreless for 18 minutes before Yunker added his third goal.

 Churchville-Chili attempted to fight back over the third quarter.  They outscored Pittsford 2-1, but never got closer than two goals.  With 2:10 remaining in regulation, Braeden Schmidt scored for the Saints to pull within 2 (8-6) with an assist from Yunker.  Pittsford finished out the game with back to back unassisted goals from Imburgia to bring his game total to 5g.  In the cage for Pittsford, Brecken Catalano finished at 63% with 10 saves.
