Galbraith Wins in Overtime

- John Galbraith marked the final goal of Pittsford’s comeback victory over Webster Thomas 9-8 in the first overtime period.  The Titans scored the opening goal and never trailed; however, the game was tied 5 times throughout the contest.

Thomas controlled much of the game before the final quarter and overtime period.  Jacob Allen scored the opening goal off a feed from Trevor Ford only 1:08 into the contest.  Pittsford responded six minutes later with Galbraith’s first goal of the night.  The game continued tied for five minutes before Nick Mabe scored with time running down in the first quarter.  The Titans led 2-1 after 12 minutes.

They kept up their intensity to start the second quarter with a fast-break goal from CJ Battaglia to Mabe.  The Titans kept the lead for the remainder of the quarter and led 4-3 at halftime.  Pittsford tied the game with the first goal of the second half.  Mabe and Brad Smith responded to put Thomas back on top by two goals for the second time in the game.  Pittsford scored back to back to re-tie the game for third time 6-6 after three quarters.

In the final quarter, the teams alternated goals.  Thomas took the lead and Pittsford forced a tie twice.  The second time was off a Colby Barker feed to John Mozrall with 6:46 remaining.  The last six minutes was back and forth with both teams attempting to get ahead.  In overtime, Pittsford won the draw and got the first offensive opportunity.  They never gave the Titan offense a chance and Galbraith scored 1:05 into overtime.  In the cage for Thomas, Matt Yonko recorded 6 saves.
