Players of the Week - Group 4

- Player of the Week

In the fourth week of honoring players, we honor two players who were instrumental in key wins for their teams.

Brett Randall Offensive Player of the Week
Brett Randall

Brighton senior attackman Brett Randall has been an important part of a highly effective offense for the Barons for quite some time. When Brighton took out the last of the undefeated teams at HF-L last week, Brett had four goals and two assists in their 14-11 win. His 46 points this year (35g-11a) take his four-year career stats to 126g-52a. The Baron captain will be off to the University of Richmond next fall.

Head Coach Cory Holbrough has a lot to say about his senior attackman. "He embodies the term student athlete and captain and he has been an absolute pleasure to watch grow into the player and leader he is today. One word that would describe his game is slick. He's got high lax IQ, great hands, a knack for the goal and the ability to make those players around him better."

Brandon Moore Defensive Player of the Week
Brandon Moore

Canandaigua senior goalie Brandon Moore had certainly picked some important games in which to shine this last week. When the Braves defeated the Section VI Class B Champions from Hamburg, Brandon turned in eight saves (73%). Then, a week later when Canandaigua beat Victor, he turned in fifteen saves (75%). The three year Varsity player and two year starter has tallied 275 saves (56%).

Head Coach Deven York says, " Brandon has been incredible in goal. He is a vocal leader that the kids rally around. We are blessed to have two outstanding seniors in the rack this season. I think I am most impressed with how Brandon has handled platooning. He is a vocal supporter of his teammates in and out of the goal. He is ready to go at a moment's notice and has responded very well when called upon. Brandon showed some incredible composure in the Victor and Hamburg games. As far as Victor goes... I would say he 'stood on his head'"
