Patriots Defeat Barons

- Penfield scored six unanswered goals in the first quarter to secure the lead and never looked back in their 14-12 win over Brighton.  The Barons fought to keep the score close, but never re-tied the game after the first quarter.  Joey Barboza and Peter Schwab recorded 5g-1a each for the Patriots.

Brighton at PenfieldBrighton scored the opening two goals with Brett Randall and Brady McDermott scoring.  The Barons were held scoreless for the remainder of the quarter, while Penfield scored six goals.  Jack Cummings, Andrew Powlin, Adam Witscheber, Schwab (2) and Barboza scored to round out the quarter.  They led 6-2 after 12 minutes.  Brighton came out of the second quarter swinging.  They scored three unanswered goals from Casey McDermott and Brady McDermott (2) to bring the game within one.  Penfield came back with goals of their own and held off a tie.  Each time the Barons came close to tying the score, the Patriots scored again to keep their lead.

For Penfield, Adam Witscheber led in ground balls with four.  He also recorded four takes.  Brady O'Hont added 3 takes and 2 ground balls.  In the cage for the Patriots, Kaden Boardway recorded 10 saves.  For Brighton, Caleb Green finished with 4 saves.
