The contest was close until the final quarter when Arc/Oly increased their lead to 10-5.  Arc/Oly scored the opening goal with an unassisted drive from Matt McHale.  The Lightning held the lead for six minutes before Tucker Sutphen scored the first goal for the Blue Devils off a feed from Jeremy Hopsicker.  Hopsicker finished with 1g-4a and Sutphen finished with 5g.  The first quarter ended with the score tied 1-1.

The Lightning also scored the first goal of the second quarter with another unassisted goal from McHale.  Brockport responded with three unanswered goals to take the lead.  Tyler Stiefel scored two (both assisted by Hopsicker) and Hopsicker scored the third himself.  Brockport led 4-2 with 3:42 remaining in the half.  Arc/Oly added one more before the half ended to take the halftime score to 4-3.
