Victor Wins a Close One

Saturday: DAY IN REVIEW: Both Class B and Class D played their semifinal games today and all four top seeded teams won. In Class D, Pal-Mac defeated Marcus Whitman after taking a 10-3 lead after the first quarter. They was no report from Pal-Mac at post time. In the other Class D game, held at HF-L, Penn Yan held Midlakes to a single goal to punch their ticket to the championship. Connor Finger led the Mustangs with 3g-4a while Griffin Emerson made 8s (89%) for the Mustangs. There was not report from Midlakes at post time.

Thomas vs Canandaigua

Second seeded Victor held off a late push by third seeded Brighton 10-9. The Blue Devils took control early and held it for a huge chunk of the game. They led by four goals with four minutes remaining in regulation. Brighton scored four goals in last four minutes (with Victor adding one of their own) to pull within one goal two different times. Victor advances to the Sectional Finals for the Seventh straight season. STORY CONTINUES

Top seeded Canandaigua defeated fourth seeded Thomas 7-2 to advance. The Braves offense had trouble getting started, but then stepped up with three unanswered goals in the second quarter. With two more in the third, their five-goal stretch took over control of the game. STORY CONTINUES

Canandaigua will play Victor on Wednesday at 7:30 PM and Pal-Mac will play Penn Yan at 5:00PM. Both games will be held at St. John Fisher College

Finishing their season today were Midlakes (11-7), Brighton (14-4), Marcus Whitman (10-8) and Thomas (9-10).
