Class A and C See Higher Seeds Win

Tuesday: DAY IN REVIEW: The quarter final rounds in Classes A and C held with the higher seeded teams winning their games. Pittsford had a 6-3 win over Hilton, Penfield won their game with East United and Greece Storm had a 9-6 win over Rush-Henrietta. In Class C, Newark defeated Eastridge, Wayne ended Batavia's season and HF-L beat Livonia-Avon.

Livonia-Avon at HFLFourth seeded Pittsford scored the first three goals and never led by less than two in their 6-3 win over fifth seeded Hilton. The Panthers and Cadets faced two weeks ago with Pittsford winning 5-3 and today was a similarly low scoring contest. Pittsford’s opening goal came from Ben DiGiovanni (2) and Ryan Dumont. DiGiovanni finished with a team leading 3g. Hilton scored their first goal 22 minutes into the game with Jordan DePetres assisting Matthew Mojsej with 2:15 remaining in the first half. Pittsford added another two goals before Hilton scored their second. The Panther’s largest lead came at 5-1 after an unassisted goal from Sonny Imburgia. The Cadets scored two of the last three goals.

On a goal in the third quarter Newark senior attackman Parker Casselman had an assist to Taylor Clements. On this play Casselman set the school record for career assists and Clements set the career record for goals. Clements also set the record for goals in a season and tied the school record for goals in a game with Casselman with eight.

In the semi final Class A round on Friday, #4 Pittsford will face #1 Fairport (5:00 PM) and #3 Greece Storm will face #2 Penfield (7:30 PM) at Webster Thomas High School. The Class C semi finals will also play on Friday at Penn Yan Academy. #4 Newark will play #1 Geneva at 5:00 PM and #3 HF-L will play #2 Wayne at 7:30 PM.
