Victor Signs Six NLIs - Three for Albany

The Victor Blue Devil fans and family saw six of their seniors sign National Letters of Intent in a ceremony on Tuesday. Three of the six (Camron Hay, Joey Pezzimenti and Regan Endres) will attend Albany, Alec Russell will attend Le Moyne, Shea Newell will be off to Mercyhurst and Cam Germain will attend St. Bonaventure.

Camden HayAn attackman, playing on the Varsity since ninth grade, Camden Hay will start his senior year with 93g-70a after a junior year that saw him score a team-leading ninety-six points and as a result, earned first team All-Section, first team All-League and AGR supper 16 honors. Originally committing to Syracuse, he decided on Albany, where his brother, Tanner is a sophomore and his uncle, John Maloney (a Victor graduate) is and Assistant Coach.

Joey PezzimentiJoey Pezzimenti is also an attackman and also a recent switch to Albany. In his freshman year, he committed to Ohio State, switching, earlier this year, to keep playing with his current teammates. In his first three years with the Blue Devils he has accumulated 113g-84a. His team-leading fifty-five goals (ninety-two points) last year earned him first all-section, All-Tournament team, first All-League and AGR Super 16 honors.

Regan EndresFace off specialist, Regan Endres, also has three years with the Varsity and after winning 262 draws last year (79%) and also earned first All-Section, and All-League honors last year. He also led the Blue Devil efforts on ground balls last season with ninety-nine.

Albany Head Coach Scott Marr has been recruiting Section Five players for quite some time. Along with Coach Maloney, there are seven alumni on the current roster including Michael Kozar (Fairport), Tanner Hay (Victor), Pat Barrow (Victor), Peter Schwab (Penfield), Jack Peterson (Penn Yan), Connor Finger (Penn Yan) and Corey Yunker (Churchville-Chili).

Shea NewellMercyhurst University Head Coach, Chris Ryan is also a Section Five alumnus (Irondequoit) and has also heavily recruited local boys. He picked up another good one when midfielder Shea Newell signed his National Letter of Intent. Although playing much of his time last year as a defensive midfielder he scored nine goals, picked up thirty ground balls and had two takes.

Mercyhurst has ten Section Five alumni on the 2020 roster including Ben Smith-Wilcox (Canandaigua), Justin Sale (Irondequoit), Nicholas Mabe (Thomas), Shawn Doran (Hilton), Matthew Sherman (Irondequoit), Brett Olney (Irondequoit), Patrick Carrozzi (Victor), Ryan Ter Haar (Churchville-Chili), Quinn Simonson (Irondequoit) and Steven Katz (Thomas). He will be joining Zach Boyatzies (Hilton)and Gavin Ingalis (Fairport) after this season.

Alec RussellA third Blue Devil attackman signed his NLI at the ceremony when Alec Russell made his commitment to study and play at Le Moyne, another school that has recruited from the section. Current 2020 players from Section Five are Mike Northrup (Schroeder), Sam Lambert (Victor), Evan Kelly (Aquinas), Nate Arnold (Pal-Mac), Connor Haims (Pittsford), Will Pieterse (Pittsford) and Devin Andrews (Canandaigua). Last year, the quick attackman recorded 21g-5a.

Cam GermainSt. Bonaventure picked up a Blue Devil defenseman in Cameron Germain. A strong academic program and an opportunity to help build a championship level program drew Cam to Head Coach Randy Mearns and the Bonnies who became an NCAA division I team in 2017. Jack Emmick (Penfield) and Mark Belles (Canandaigua) are current freshmen on the 2020 team. Austin Holley (Hilton) will join Cam on the team next year.
