Thomas Holds Off Wayne

Thomas and Wayne played the conclusion of their match from April 16th today with the Titans winning 9-6.  Thomas scored five of the first seven goals to take an early lead that the Eagles could not fight back against.  This was only the second loss of the year for Wayne and first non-overtime loss.  With tonight’s win the Titans break a three game win-less streak, including an overtime loss to Fairport last week.

Thomas led 5-2 with 2:57 left in the first half after their early scoring runs.  Joe Russo scored three of the first five goals with David Petz scoring the other two.  Wayne fought back with two more goals before the half to keep the game within one going into the break (5-4).

In the second half quarter, Thomas outscored Wayne 2-1 in both quarters.  In the third, scoring came from Russo and Nathan Hoban.  The lone Eagles goal was scored by John Reagan.  In the fourth, Hoban and Reed Currie scored for the titans with Joe Camp scoring the lone Wayne goal.
