CC Breaks RH Undefeated Season

Churchville-Chili used a strong second quarter to secure the 11-10 win over Rush Henrietta.  The Saints scored the game winning goal with only 0:11 remaining on the clock with an unassisted goal from Patrick Mitchell.  Mitchell, who finished the game with 4 goals, scored the last two goals for the Saints.  Eli Chalmers also scored 4 goals for Churchville-Chili.  Additionally, LSM randon Clark had a breakout game for the Saint's defense.  He finished the game with 9 takes and set a new school record in the process.  Rush-Henrietta was led in scoring by Luke Delavak (3g-2a).

Zack Lenhard scored the opening goal of the game a little over two minutes into the game off a feed from Delavak.  The next goal came off a face-off fast-break with Jordan Coleman scoring off the quick pass  from Nick Cowie.  The Royal Comets held the 2-0 lead for the next seven minutes before Churchville-Chili got on the board. Brett Seaman scored the opening goal for the Saints with 2:39 remaining in the first quarter.  Once again, RH scored on face-off fast-break only 0:15 later with Killian Ceci scoring.  The Saints added more goal as time expired in the quarter.  Chalmers scored the buzzer beater off a feed from Mitchell.

The Saints used the last minute goal to press an advantage in the second quarter.  Churchville-Chili scored the first five goal of the quarter to go ahead 7-3.  All five goals were unassisted goals with Mitchell scoring two and Chalmers, Will Zimmerman and Braeden Schmidt scoring one each.  RH only scored a single goal in the quarter and it was another buzzer beater.  Delavak scored the first of his goals off a feed from Gunner MacMillian to end the half at 7-4.

Similar to the Saints in the second quarter, the Royal Comets used the buzzer beater to press their advantage into the third quarter.  The Royal Comets scored the first two to pull within a single goal; Delavak and Cowie scored.  The third quarter continued with the teams alternating goals until Ceci scored back to back goal to end the third and begin the fourth and tie the game for the first time since 3-3.  In the fourth quarter, each team added two goals.  The game tying goal was scored with 3:52 remaining by Delavak before Mitchell scored the game winner with 0:11 remaining.

Brandon Clark led in ground balls for the Saints with 12.  In the cage, Mitch Marsh recorded six saves.  For R-H, Cameron Kuzniar recorded 8 saves.
